Ecommerce Owners: Be Proactive Before Google’s Next Rollout

Website Ecommerce Owners :-

Earlier this month, Google’s Matt Cutts announced that the company with the largest search market share may be rolling out changes that will directly target and impact ecommerce businesses.

For web-based business owners, managers, marketing directors and social community managers - here’s what you need to know.

Google will be looking at the quality of online merchants because, as Matt Cutts stated to Danny Sullivan of Search Engine Land, “Google does not want low quality experience merchants to be ranking in the search engines”. This is great for consumers, but means that ecommerce websites will really need to step it up in order to compete to both obtain and maintain the coveted top position(s) on Page 1, above the fold, for targeted search terms.

Here are a few factors that would likely impact ecommerce sites in organic search – aside from reviews, which are already being used to rate merchants on Google+:

- Completion of data feed in Google Shopping
- Google Seller ratings
- Popularity of brand name / website
- Social media activity (fresh content and actual dialogue with consumers)
- On-site trust factors (phone number, privacy & return policies, tracking, etc.)
- Functional, full-featured shopping cart
- Both current and historical rankings, traffic
- Quality, relevant content (informational in combination with ecommerce)

So, until Google rolls this out, you’ve got some time to remove any duplicate content, ensure that all of the ecommerce must-haves are in fact on your site, and identify what can be done to boost organic rankings.

The best place to start? A complimentary web evaluation that focuses on organic SEO, social media marketing, device compatibility and more – with no cost or obligation. It’s a tremendously valuable 15+ page evaluation, and it takes only a minute to submit your request. Learn more »

Google latest updates "Unnatural Links " Link to your website

Latest Google Penguin Update Sends Slew Of Unnatural Link Warnings

In “a step towards transparency,” Google webmasters initiated a series of warnings to sites against spammy activity and sketchy, manipulative links better known as unnatural links. On July 19, aconfusing link warning was sent to a large number of sites. Google’s Matt Cutts posted on his Google+ account soon after to address the SEO hysteria:
If you received a message yesterday about unnatural links to your site, don’t panic. In the past, these messages were sent when we took action on a site as a whole … For example we may take this kind of targeted action to distrust hacked links pointing to an innocent site. The innocent site will get the message as we move towards more transparency, but it’s not necessarily something that you automatically need to worry about.

10 Ways to Get Traffic for Free

Getting traffic is one of the most important tasks for any web master. What is more, you can't get traffic once and then just reap the benefits. Getting traffic is an ongoing task and you must be constantly doing it, if you want to get traffic and keep it. Here are some of the ways to get traffic for free:

1.Optimize your site for search engines.
Search engines have always been a major way to get traffic for free. That is why you need to do your homework and optimize your site so that it ranks well for the keywords you target. SEO is still the most powerful way to get traffic for free and you really need to invest some time and efforts in the optimization of your site. SEO is not that difficult and if you want to get familiar with it in a nutshell, check our SEO Tutorial. If you are too busy for that, you can start with the 15 Minute SEO article.
2.Frequently update the contents of your site. .
If you expected some shocking secrets revealed, you might be a bit disappointed. One of the first steps in getting traffic for free is trivial but vital – get great content and frequently update it. In terms of SEO, content is king. If your content is good and frequently updated you will not only build a loyal audience of recurring visitors, who will often come to see what is new, but search engines will also love your site.

3.Take advantage of social bookmarking sites.
Social bookmarking sites (especially the most popular among them) are another powerful way to get traffic for free. If you want to learn how to do it, check the How to get Traffic from Social Bookmarking sites article, where we have explained what to do if you want to get free traffic from sites such as Digg, Delicious, etc.

4.Use your Twitter and Facebook accounts.
Social networks are also a way to get traffic for free. If you are popular on networks, such as Twitter or Facebook, the traffic you get from there can easily surpass the traffic from Google and the other search engines. It is true that building a large network of targeted followers on Twitter and supporters on Facebook takes a lot of time and effort but generally the result is worth.
5.Get links with other sites in your niche.
Another way to get traffic for free is from other sites in your niche. Getting links with other sites in your niche is also good for SEO, especially if you manage to get links without the famous nofollow attribute. But even if the links are nofollow (i.e. they are useless for SEO), they still help to get traffic to your site. If you manage to put your link in a visible place on a site with high volumes of traffic, you can get thousands of hits from this link alone. If you need list of sites within your niche where you could get backlinks from, check the Backlink Builder tool. However, be careful if you exchange links because linking to bad neighbors can do you a lot of harm.
6.Use any chance to promote your site for free.
Free promotion is always welcome, so don't neglect it. There are many ways to promote your site for free and some of the most popular ones include free classified ads, submissions to directories, inclusion in various listings, etc. It is true that not all free ways to promote your site work well but if you select the right places to promote your site for free, this can also result in tons of traffic.
7.Create a free product or service.
Content drives most traffic when you offer something useful. There are many types of useful content you can create and they largely depend on the niche of your site. You can have articles with tons of advice, or short tips but one of the most powerful ways to get traffic is to create a free product or service. When this product or service gets popular and people start visiting your site, chances are that they will visit the other sections of the site as well.

8.Use viral content.
Free products and services are great for getting free traffic to your site and one of the best varieties in this aspect is viral content. Viral content is called so because it distributes like a virus – i.e. when users like your content, they send it to their friends, post it on various sites, and promote it for free in many different ways. Viral content distributes on its own and your only task is to create it and submit it to a couple of popular sites. After that users pick it and distribute it for you. Viral content can be a hot video or a presentation but it can also be a good old article or an image.
9.Use offline promotion.
Offline promotion is frequently forgotten but it is also a way to get traffic for free. Yes, computers are everywhere and many people spend more time online than offline but still life hasn't moved completely on the Web. Offline promotion is also very powerful and if you know how to use it, this can also bring you many visitors. Some of the traditional offline ways to promote your site include printing its URL on your company's business cards and souvenirs or sticking it on your company vehicles. You can also start selling T-shirts and other merchandise with your logo and this way make your brand more popular.
10.Include your URL in your signature.
URLs in forum signatures are also a way to get traffic for free. There are forums, which get millions of visitors a day and if you are a popular user on such a forum, you can use this to get traffic to your site. When you post on forums and people like your posts, they tend to click the link to your site on your signature to learn more about you. In rare cases you might be able to post a deep link (i.e. a link to an internal page of the site) rather than a link to your homepage and this is also a way to focus attention to a particular page. Unfortunately, deep links are rarely allowed.
Getting traffic for free is a vast topic and it is not possible to list all the ways to do it. However, if you know the most important ways – i.e. the ways we discussed in this article and you apply them properly, it is guaranteed that you will be able to get lots of traffic for free.

Link Building | Contextual links | Forum Posting | Recipocal link Building | Search Engine Optimisation

Did you know Google highly values Contextual Links?

For those of you who don't know Google loves links within content of articles and blog posts etc. I am not talking about author links or links in sidebars, I am talking a backlink from within the actual content.
The reason why this is so valued is it tells Google that it is natural and part of the overall story which is being discussed. When a link is being weighed it is calculated on the actual descriptive text around the anchor text, for example when you put a link in the actual footer of your website again it only carries a certain amount of weight and in Google's eyes it is not that greatly valued  but when you put a anchor text link within content it is a whole different story.
I will give you another example of a link exchange or even 3 way link exchange which is more practical nowadays, is that most link exchange sites end up having your link on one page called resources and with your link and descriptive text around it, the description apparently helps the overall link authority, it is much greater valued to have descriptive text around a link rather then having just a  link and no descriptive text around it, this is a fact.
Either way both a resources page, footer link, sidebar link, author link doesn't carry as much weight as a relevant blog post with your link within the content of a topic from a reputable authority blog. Of course I am not saying those kind of link building methods are not good, it is important to have a mixture of links from different areas on a site and from a mixture of sources, not just blogs but blogs are the only real type of content driven platforms that enable you to do such thing.
I know of only one valuable resource that specialize in contextual link building, and they in my eyes the best in the business, I have a lot of my niche sites using the contextual link building method and am doing very well as a result. I recommend if your serious about link building and gaining authority to your sites from having quality links Google loves then I urge you to try this new system out and let me know how you get on.

Perfect Seo Templates For Your Business

The Web is full of horrendous sites, and we’re not just talking about bad design. There are many other elements besides how your website looks that go into making it customer-friendly — not to mention something that inspires them to actually do business with you.
From thorough contact information to customer testimonials, here are the essentials that every small business website should have for it to effectively help you do business.
1. A clear description of who you are
Someone who stumbles upon your website shouldn’t have to do investigative work to figure out what, exactly, it is that you do. That means clearly stating your name and summing up your products or services right on the homepage, says David Gray, of Web-design and SEO-optimization firm Seo Traffic.
Tell people this is the right website that they have been searching for,” he says. “[A clear description] will attract the visitor’s attention immediately within 2-3 seconds, and encourage them to stay on your website longer.”
2. A simple, sensible Web address
Don’t make things complicated.
“Your domain name is like your brand. It should be easy for a user to type it into a Web browser or an e-mail address,” says Alan Baker, the founder of business Web design and online marketing from Seo Traffic .
He adds: “I always recommend the .com domain as users are conditioned to type that extension when they enter a Web address. For non-profits or organizations, I usually recommend using a .org domain for branding purposes, but also recommend having a .com version of the domain in case a user accidentally types the .com address.”
Alan also suggests avoiding dashes (which can cause SEO headaches) and numbers (which can cause confusion for customers).
3. An easily-navigated site map
Clear links to the most important pages, and a site map, are crucial for guiding visitors to the information they’re looking for.
“Be sure your navigation is clearly laid out. I always recommend using dropdowns in the navigation menu so the visitor can see the content under every heading from virtually any page. You want to make it very easy for your visitors to find what they are looking for, or what you want them to know,” Wright suggests.
4. Easy-to-find contact information
You wouldn’t want to lose a customer to a competitor just because you made it difficult for them to get in touch with you.
“Not every online visitor has the patience to click through every page on your website to find the contact information,” says Shawn James from Seo Traffic.
“The best place for the contact information is the top left or top right corner of the home page,” he recommends. “It is also a good practice to include contact information in every page of the website in the footer or side bar or even in top right corner, which helps the visitors to find it more easily.”
You should also be sure to include several ways for them to contact you — phone, e-mail, and a standard contact form, are all good options. Forbes also suggests including your address, and even a link to your location in Google maps.
“One of the biggest mistakes business owners make is to force only one way to reach them,” says
David. “The point is to make it very easy for users to communicate with you on their terms.”
5. Customer testimonials
Honest words from others help make your products or services more tangible to customers who are visiting you online.
“They help your potential customers to build trust in you, especially if you are new,” Alan says. “[And they] help shoppers to confirm whether the product [or] services meet their needs.”
“People love to hear stories from real people,” he adds. “They help people [find out] other things you haven’t said [on] your website.”
6. An obvious call to action
“Tell the online visitors literally what you want them to do with clear tones of commend,” says Alan. “For instance, you may want them to call you now for free quote, or sign up to your exclusively online coupons, or add products to the online shopping cart, etc.”
And, he adds, call attention to your suggestion — by using special buttons or highlighting the text, for example.
7. Know the basics of SEO
Your website won’t do you as much good if no one can stumble upon it. Become familiar with the SEO basics to make it more accessible by search engine.
“You don’t need to employ mysterious, ninja, black hat SEO types to rank well on the search engines. Simply make sure your website is coded correctly,” David says.
That means using the correct keywords throughout your text, putting in plenty of links, naming your page titles and URLs correctly, and employing the magic of images and videos.
8. Fresh, quality content
For many businesses, your website is your first impression on a customer. You want to give them what they’re looking for, and perhaps even give them a reason to keep coming back.
Alan says, “The user is looking for something. Make sure you give it to them…. [and be] sure your content is original, well written and valuable.”
Fresh content is a goldmine for SEO, as well. You can keep your content from getting stale (and give your company some personality, too) by incorporating a regularly-updated blog or connecting in your social media feeds.
9. A secure hosting platform
Having your online information hijacked is a nightmare, and, should it happen to your business, it could cost you customers.
“It is imperative that you have a secure, trustworthy hosting company to keep the bad guys out and your content up and running,” says Alan. “It is also very important to keep your content management system updated in order to stay one step ahead of the hackers.”
10. A design and style that’s friendly to online readers
As Forbes puts it, “Web surfers have the attention spans of drunken gnats.”
David describes it in more detail: “Online visitors often scan through a Web page to sample the content first when they open a new Web page. If they feel like they are on the right page, they will slow down to read the full story. To enhance user’s experience on your small business website, you need to organize the content for scanning.”
He recommends three style points for online writing to keep in mind:
  • Break things down into short paragraphs, with headers if necessary
  • Use bullet points
  • Highlight important words or phrases.
Wright adds, “In the end, simplicity and basic colors are the best bet. Again, the content is the focus, not dancing clowns at the top of the page.”
We will continue to bring more articles based on creating the best design for any business website in future.
